1985 - 2018In 2007, the actor was spotted seeking disability benefits and was reported to be in poverty. He returned to appear in films, notably appearing in a dance sequence in Pokkiri and then as a regular in Vadivelu's comedy tracks in Karuppusamy Kuththagaithaarar (2007) and Kanthaswamy (2009). The actor began working on a low-budget bilingual Tamil and Malayalam film titled Onnara Kullan in the lead role opposite softcore actress Shakeela, but the film remains unreleased. In recent years, actor King Kong has choreographed a dance number in a Doritos Tandoori Sizzler! commercial shown in Canada, which was filmed in India. He also made an appearance in British comedian Romesh Ranganathan's BBC Three show Asian Provocateur during October 2015 and appeared in an in-episode short film.

This is another film that centers around the pranks of teenagers. This film is rated 18 in Singapore. Jai Akash comes to Nagerkoil as the Collector. His reminiscences of his school days in Nagerkoil, forms the main theme of the film. Manikantan who comes in the role of the 16 year old Kicha is like our typical naughty neighborhood boy. The boy Kicha used to eye becomes the headmistress of his school and this delights Kicha. Kicha who always teases everybody else, is however very well behaved towards headmistress Nirmala (Simran). So he always gets her support. But he leads a group of errant boys and together they steal the school vessels and sell them and also eat in hotels and give the slip without paying the bill. He is only a good friend to this one girl, but she falls in love with him.

In the past, the young Seethalakshmi became pregnant but she didn't reveal the father's identity. To punish her, the village chief Periya Ayya ordered her to live alone in a small hut and after the childbirth, he took her newborn son. Whereas, Dharmaraj and Varalakshmi got married. Periya Ayya then sent the baby to another village. Many years later, Sakthi comes back to his village and he becomes the manager of the village's temple. Sakthi thinks that he is an orphan. Afterward, Sakthi and Raani fall in love with each other. Soon, Varalakshmi's brother Sethupathi tries to rob the temple's costly things. On his first attempt, Sethupathi's henchmen fail because of Sakthi. The second time, he robs the temple's Kalasam. He then traps the innocent Sakthi and Periya Ayya dismisses him. Sakthi finally comes to know the identity of his parents : Dharmaraj and Seethalakshmi. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
